I owned this car in 2002/3 and it was the first time I ~~wasted~~ spent serious money on modifications. The engine was remapped to 260bhp by AmD in Bicester. I then added Porsche 993 Turbo brakes, H&R springs and Koni dampers, all bought second hand from a TT forum member. Finally I spent an enormous amount (almost £2000) on the Sportec wheels and Goodyear F1 tyres. I don’t begrudge this, they are still my favourite ever wheels.

It was a lovely motor to own, I used to enjoy early morning blasts around the Oxfordshire countryside. As a reference point it wasn’t a great drive but I still look back on it with fond memories, as much as any car I’ve ever owned. I sold it in the summer of 2003 to another TT forum member who has since sold it on to yet another, so it’s still around.
